Campaign: names for cows

Our photographic archive contains thousands of photos. Many of them portray cows. Cows on transport lorries. Cows in market halls. Cows in slaughterhouses. Cows on ships. Cows in ports. Cows in vast milk production factories. Old, emaciated cows. Young cows, pregnant for the first time. Cows in Spain and Portugal. Cows in the USA and Canada. Cows in India. Cows in Germany, Holland and Belgium. Cows in Poland and Lithuania. Cows in Italy and France. Cows in Brazil. Cows in Australia and Lebanon.

All these cows are dead. Nameless they were transported. Nameless they were killed. Nameless they disappeared from the earth.

Every cow we came across is an individual. She has unique character traits, her own preferences, fears, needs. Every cow we photographed possessed an intrinsic worth.

Every cow deserves to be looked at with the eyes of love

Our friends and supporters have given some of the cows posthumous names, chosen with love, which affirm the individuality of every single cow and give the cows back their dignity.
