We’re going on a pilgrimage for the animals: 2-15 June 2013
On the Camino de Santiago trail with Animals’ Angels
After our two successful trips in 2010 and 2011 we hope for active participation once again! We will start in Portugal and our journey will take us from Porto to Santiago de Compostela as we hike approximately 230 kilometers.
The Camino Portugues is one of the most popular pilgrim paths to Santiago de Compostela since there are many impressive sights along the way and it offers green and shady nature too. The participants in the Animals’ Angels pilgrimage, however, have an additional objective in mind: We walk each kilometer together in memory of loved animals, of forgotten animals, and of all the animals on the transporters – each pilgrim in his or her own way. And we leave photos of these “unforgotten ones” behind along the trail.
The trip cost is €995 per person (single rooms are €240 extra); travel expenses to Porto and accommodations there are not included. As before, we will do the tour accompanied by the tried and tested company “Pilgino” who will also escort us by vehicle (luggage transport, emergency).
You do have to be good on foot to make the journey. As always, this is our motto for campaigns of this kind: We sweat – you donate! We are looking forward to your support through a donation if you cannot pilgrimage along with us. Thank you in advance!

Crossing the Alps on a mountain bike
We are following in the footsteps of our animals for the 10th time on our “Anniversary TransAlp for the Animals!” Once again we are tying a sports challenge to lingering at stations where the “utility” animals suffer on transport and Animals’ Angels were and are there for them. We will start off in the Inn Valley; our destination is Trent – Kathi Wirnitzer is already working out the tour.
The participation fee is €400 and includes accommodations and vegetarian meals. The cyclists are expected to attend the press reception and the closing event and should raise awareness about Animals’ Angels in their own circle of friends.
You do have to be in shape and a good cyclist to participate. As always, this is our motto for campaigns of this kind: We sweat – you donate! We are looking forward to your support through a donation if you cannot bike along with us. Thank you in advance!

Sign(s) up for the animals
In May we were able to bring our fundraising campaign to a successful conclusion with your help: Our truck sign against animal transports that was generously provided to us by the Jäger company, will travel through Germany as a moving reminder. The first one to see the truck and send us a photo will receive a surprise!
